Harakama brings the quiet ritual of Japanese kamameshi to Bangkok — rice steamed individually over flame in its own iron-glazed pot, finished at the table where the crackle of okoge meets the rising steam.
We source what matters: Niigata rice for its clean sweetness, Hiroshima dashi for depth, and hand-thrown Mie pottery fired to hold heat the way it has for generations. The result is unhurried, seasonal, and made for one bowl at a time.

The Philosophy
The meal takes thirty minutes. That is not a flaw. That is the point.
Every kamameshi is cooked to order, one pot at a time. Nothing is rushed, nothing is held. What reaches your table has been waited for — and in that waiting is the whole of it. Intention. Always.

おたずね · Good to know
Kamameshi (釜飯) is Japanese rice cooked to order in its own iron-glazed clay pot. At Harakama, every pot is steamed individually over flame and finished at the counter — with Niigata rice, Hiroshima dashi, and hand-thrown Banko-yaki pottery from Mie Prefecture.
On Soi Prasarnmitr (Sukhumvit 23), Khlong Toei Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok — a short hop from the Asok and Phrom Phong stations, in the heart of Sukhumvit.
About thirty minutes — each clay pot is cooked fresh to order, never held. The wait is part of the meal: that is the point.
Reservations are recommended. Book through Reserve with Google or call 098 252 9434. We're open Wednesday–Monday for lunch (11:30–14:00) and dinner (17:30–22:00); closed Tuesdays.
A quiet five-part tasting built around your choice of kamameshi — A5 Omi wagyu, Hokkaido ikura & scallop, Hiroshima oyster, miso cod, or kashiwa chicken — alongside seasonal à la carte and dessert.
Yes — the counter is made for it. It's equally suited to a quiet date, a special occasion, or anyone who loves Japanese clay-pot rice and omakase-style dining.
